All Aboard the ESRB 30th Anniversary Express!
In honor of our 30th anniversary, we invite you to board the ESRB Express in our new music video: E is For Everyone!
Sing along on this Schoolhouse Rock-inspired journey celebrating thirty years that the ESRB has spent informing parents and protecting kids, including:
- Our bread and butter: ESRB’s age and content ratings that help parents make informed choices about which video games and apps are appropriate for their families.
- The Advertising Review Council that ensures rating information is displayed wherever video games are sold or marketed and video game advertising is appropriately targeted.
- ESRB Privacy Certified that works to help companies maintain lawful and responsible data practices, especially when it comes to children.
With the help of some of ESRB’s musically gifted staff, and composer Alex Engelberg, this celebratory song helps illustrate the important public service and self-regulatory role that ESRB has performed for the past three decades on behalf of the video game industry. Watch or listen with the whole family and share your reactions on social media by tagging @ESRBRatings on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and X.
Since opening our doors in 1994, ESRB has worked to provide parents and caregivers with trusted and familiar age and content ratings for video games (and eventually digitally downloadable video games, mobile games, and apps!) so they can make more informed choices about which are appropriate for their kids. In 30 years, ESRB has assigned over 16 million ratings to games and apps, with its rating icons splashed across hundreds of millions of screens and countless advertisements and marketing assets. No wonder almost 9 out of 10 parents with kids who play video games are aware of them!
It should go without saying that the whole ESRB team is passionate and proud of the work we do. We could not be more grateful for the game industry’s enduring support, without which we couldn’t have thrived for three decades. Most importantly, we’ve worked incredibly hard to earn the trust of parents and caregivers, and we pledge to continue to develop and refine the tools we offer to help keep kids’ video game experiences age appropriate well into the future.
Here’s to another 30 years of service to parents and families! All aboard!
