Dokapon Kingdom is a role-playing board game in which players gain wealth by freeing villages, trading goods/items, and battling monsters. Combat is turn-based as numeric values and light effects indicate attack/damage inflicted on monsters and players. Cutscenes depict tongue-and-cheek humor and a play on words (e.g., "assolutely"), while 'poop' awards and a 'poop-styled' haircut are 'special' features. Some character customizations are suggestive in nature (e.g., option to create a "Sexy Face"), and certain female characters wear revealing outfits (e.g., cleavage). At the end of Story mode, the winning player is given the King's daughter's hand in marriage. This option is also open to female characters, resulting in a comic exchange between a cross-dressing King and two 'willing' female characters. Players can also land on a 'casino space' where a slot machine is available to play. Wine can be given as a gift by various characters but cannot be used as an item.
