Quantum of Solace is an action game in which players assume the role of James Bond as he battles the nefarious forces of SPECTRE. Using the DS touch screen players can perform various actions such as gunplay, hand-to-hand combat, and evasion maneuvers against opposing units (e.g. SPECTRE operatives, security guards, and enemy units dressed as law enforcement agents). Enemy units groan when attacked and quickly disappear once defeated. Story elements are told through various still frames and include expletives (e.g. "damn" and "hell") in the dialogue and specific references to alcohol (e.g. "I'll have a martini, shaken not stirred").
