Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is an action adventure game in which players' choices steer Spider-Man towards acting either as hero or villain. Spider-Man uses his web attacks and engages in frequent hand-to-hand combat with various robots, zombies, aliens, and soldiers. Black slime is emitted from several alien enemies when they are attacked. One cutscene depicts a gang committing a drive-by shooting against a rival gang, and in another, Spider-Man rips a superhero character in half off-camera. Some female characters wear form-fitting bodysuits that reveal cleavage and incorporate breast jiggle. Dialogue contains some expletives in dialogue (e.g., "damn," "hell" and "a*s"), as well as references to drugs, drug deals, and addiction.
