X3: Terran Conflict is a space simulation game in which players can pilot spaceships around galaxies and interact, trade, and fight with several alien races. Combat is depicted from a first-person perspective with laser shooting, moderate explosions, and cries of pain present during battle. Players can also pursue numerous side quests and missions, including smuggling illegal substances such as "space weed"– described as being habit-forming, intoxicating, and illegal. Characters can be heard using expletives such as "a*s" during gameplay.
