Rating Summary

This is an "open world" action game in which players assume the role of a mafia member who rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld. Set during the 1960s portion of The Godfather II movie, the game allows players to travel to several different cities, perform story-based and special missions, and enter hand-to-hand combat or gun battles. Some of the missions involve illegal racketing, assassination attempts, rendezvous and meetings with people of influence. Players can kill other rival family members and non-adversaries (e.g., pedestrians, business patrons, and business owners) using an array of weapons, such as pistols, machine guns, baseball bats, tire irons, and fiber wire. Bodies flail realistically when killed, resulting in large amounts of red blood splatter that pools and stains the environment. Police officers and criminal rivals can also be "finished off" at close range (e.g., a tire iron used to maim an enemy's head; pistol shots in the mouth of cops, adversaries). Some businesses that can be procured include brothels, a gentlemen's club, and a pornography production company. While on set with the production company, players can engage in suggestive dialogue (e.g., "I hope that tongue of yours can do more than talk") with actresses, some of whom are depicted with bare breasts and panties. Players can also enter venues known as drug rackets/warehouses where cocaine bags are stacked on tables. Extensive use of profanity (e.g., "f*ck," "sh*t," and "a*shole") can be heard in the dialogue.
