Cate West: The Vanishing Files is a seek-and-find game in which players search for specific items/clues on a screen full of objects. Players assume the role of a psychic investigator attempting to solve a series of crimes in a fictional city. Suspect details are examined regularly, some with criminal histories such as 'grand theft auto,' 'bank heist' or 'minor assault.' Violent acts such as murder, kidnapping and arson are also discussed, and a church is shown on fire in a still image. One of the items in the background is a cigar advertisement.
