Rating Summary

This is an action platformer based on the Playmobil Pirates line of toys. Players assume the role of Captain One-Eye, a small pirate who sails and fights his way through different islands in search of Blackbeard's lost treasure map. Players run and jump through side-scrolling levels, collect floating coins, and defeat enemy knights by swiping at them with a sword. The sword fighting includes realistic clashing-and-slashing sound effects; when pirates get hit, they cry out in pain—"Uhhh!" and "Ahhhh!" As players explore the open seas, they can shoot tiny cannonballs at enemy vessels, resulting in quick bursts of light and ships that do sink.

During the course of the game, players can wager 1, 5, or 10 gold pieces in a dice-rolling mini-game (a medieval version of High Dice/Beat the Bank . . . with a skeleton as banker). They can also trade rum with a vendor to complete a preliminary mission; this exchange between buyer and seller includes Captain One-Eye's declaration (text-based), "I just have to try your rum!" Other declarations can be observed, read: "ask him where the damned wood is!" and "If my wife finds out about this she'll give me hell!" [italics added]
