Rating Summary

Players raise an army of zombies bent on conquering the world in this action-strategy game. By dropping jars of colored brains on the ground, players send their zombie squads in specific directions to attack cows, pedestrians, police officers, and city buildings (gun shops, pizzerias, schools, hospitals, etc.). Players are rewarded with "loot items" for killing humans or animals and for destroying the human-controlled buildings; every time players are successful in achieving these actions, they will gain armor, bonus items, or new weapons. The last-mentioned reward includes melee weapons such as baseball bats, sticks, clubbed maces, boomerangs, hand axes, scythes—even red wagons and fish. Humans can fight back by using sniper rifles, machine gun turrets, shotguns, chainsaws, rocket launchers, and Molotov cocktails. Although the game is overtly whimsical and "cartoony," there are a number of unsettling aspects that contribute to the Teen rating: the weapons; the screams from human victims; the frequent flesh-eating sound effects (when zombies eat the trail of colored brains); the "ganging-up" on defenseless pedestrians; the inert bodies that lie face-down after they've been killed. The game also contains the expletives "hell," "damn," and "bastard"; for example, "You bastard! KILL HIM, GUYS!"
