This is a puzzle/adventure game, based on the TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, in which players solve murder cases by combing crime scenes, processing evidence in a lab, and interviewing suspects. Forensics-based mini-games include DNA analysis, fingerprint database searches, and chemical analysis. Victims' deaths are depicted through cutscenes and are examined in detail; many cases depict victims' deaths in a wide variety of scenarios. Death scenes include a man strangled and thrown off a building; a character shot in the chest and head; and a woman shaken and stabbed with a syringe. Some corpses appear with severe burn marks, puncture wounds, or large pools of blood. One case involves the collection of fluid samples (e.g., "sample of male ejaculate" and "female genetic material") and discussion of "semen and vaginal contributions" as part of the investigation. Players may also hear several references to cocaine, marijuana, and morphine in the dialogue.
