This is an action game, based on the movie Tron: Evolution, in which players assume the role of a character (an ISO) that competes in several futuristic battles and matches to become the Grid Games Champion. Players can compete in events such as light cycle races, light disc battles, hyperball matches, and light tank battles. Some of the events require players to crash into opponents' vehicles, defeat them with artillery fire, or hit them with an energy discus. Destroying vehicles and defeating opponents results in "derezzing" (breaking apart into pixilated boxes). Large explosions and screen-shaking effects highlight the frenetic laser combat. In one cutscene, a character falls off a light cycle and is intentionally run over by an opponent, resulting in a derezzing effect.
