This is a role-playing in which players assume the role of a Pokemon trainer on a quest to become League Champion. From an overhead perspective, players travel across regions, interact with characters, and engage in turn-based combat with other trainers. Players select various attacks (e.g., Tackle, Ember) from a menu to battle other Pokemon; smacking/zapping sounds and blinking effects indicate damage. One mini-game allows players to wager in-game credits on slot machines.
