Rating Summary
This is an action role-playing game in which players follow the stories of five characters involved in a war between yakuza families across Japan. From a third-person perspective, players perform quests, level up combat skills, engage in mini-games, and fight enemy clan members (and occasional bears). Players use punches, kicks, throws, and special moves (e.g., fireballs, super punches) to defeat hordes of enemy thugs and gangsters; some fights allow players to use weapons such as pipes, bats, cannons, and knives. Fights can be frenetic, highlighted by blood-splatter effects and camera angles that zoom in and slow down during finishing moves (e.g., stabbings, crashing a weapon against an enemy's abdomen). Cutscenes depict further instances of intense violence: a man shot in the head at close range; a man stomped repeatedly on the ground. The game contains some sexual material: a man grabbing a woman's arm while thrusting his hips towards her; suggestive dialogue involving a hostess (e.g., “I get the feelin' that the women around here got kinda huge breasts”; “Are you a dom or a sub?”); camera angles that zoom in on a women's chest/cleavage; a sequence briefly depicting a character's bare buttocks. During the course of the game, players' character can order and drink alcohol (e.g., whiskey, beer, sake) at various bars/restaurants—a status icon indicates drunkenness, and consuming alcohol can cause players' character to walk erratically. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the dialogue.
