This is an adventure/role-playing game in which players assist and rescue Pokemon while trying to solve a mystery. From a top-down perspective, players move around grid-like dungeon environments, collect items, and search for other Pokemon to assist in battles. Combat is turn-based, with players selecting moves from a menu; short animations depict characters executing punches, kicks, or special attacks (e.g., fireballs, lightning). Characters are described as having “fainted” when their hit points reach zero.
