Dead Island 2

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a survivor in Los Angeles during a zombie apocalypse. As players explore open-world environments, they collect resources, interact with survivors, and fight off hordes of attacking zombies in frenetic combat. Players use bats, machetes, swords, and axes to hack at zombies, resulting in large blood-splatter effects and dismemberment/decapitation; players also use shotguns, machine guns, and unconventional weapons (e.g., car batteries) to kill zombies. Cutscenes depict further instances of intense violence: a man's skull crushed by a zombie; a zombie stabbed in the eye; a zombie tearing itself apart lunging towards players' screen. The game contains some suggestive material (e.g., revealing outfits, close-up camera angles of deep cleavage); dialogue such as “[H]e's a great musician. Really good at…fingering” and "...[I]f you must have sex at three in the morning please can you refrain from moaning and screaming quite so loudly?” A handful of characters are depicted smoking joints/marijuana, sometimes amid bongs and ashtrays decorated with marijuana leaves. The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” appear in the game.
