Rating Summary
This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Kazuma Kiryu, a former yakuza member in hiding. As players explore the streets of Osaka and Yokohama, they engage in story-based missions, interact with characters, and fight various enemies (e.g., local gangs, street thugs). Players use punches, kicks, grappling moves, and objects (e.g., knives, bicycles, pipes) to defeat enemies in melee-style combat. Players can perform scripted special moves (Heat actions), slamming enemies' heads into walls or the ground, shooting them at close range. Combat is fast-paced and accompanied by impact sounds, cries of pain, and blood-splatter effects. Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a man (depicted from behind) repeatedly stabbing an unconscious character; a character stabbed through the hand; a man shot in the stomach. The game contains references to sexual material in the dialogue/text (e.g., “I like to try a variety of sexual positions”; "Now I'm throbbin' so hard it hurts”; “a well-known celebrity in the S&M industry”). Kazuma can also interact with female hostesses, going on dates and unlocking video clips of women in revealing outfits (e.g., bunny outfits; deep cleavage; bathing in a bathtub). The game contains frequent alcohol content: a female hostess drinking alcohol and encouraging Kazuma to drink (e.g., “Bottoms up”; "...I'm getting tipsy..."); stores and bars where players' character can purchase and consume alcohol (e.g., beer, sake); a status icon denoting Kazuma's intoxication status, as his movement becomes harder to control. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the game.
