Darkest Dungeon® II

This is a strategy role-playing game in which players recruit heroes to battle evil forces in a decaying, fantasy world. Players explore various regions (e.g., a forest full of undead soldiers, a mountain filled with cultists) while battling enemies in turn-based combat. Players take turns using pistols, bladed weapons, clubs, and elemental skills to kill enemies (e.g., demons, ghouls, humans). Battles are highlighted by gunfire, blood-splatter effects, and cries of pain. Some enemies are depicted with exposed viscera or severed tentacle-like appendages; obtainable items include depictions of stylized fingers, hearts, and eyeballs. The game contains some mildly suggestive material: a “Book of Bawdy Tales,” with a picture of a couple on the cover; dialogue such as “this is my kind of foreplay” during battle sequences. In addition to consumable whiskey and wine items, one level depicts a drunken husband character; some attack names also suggest drunkenness (e.g., Slurred Bombast; Slumped Stupor). The word “bastard” appears in the game.
