Rating Summary
This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of a detective magician investigating a mysterious death in early 20th century Warsaw. From a 3/4-overhead perspective, players explore villages, interact with characters, and uncover clues to progress the narrative. Some interactions lead to turn-based combat with soldiers and possessed characters. Players select melee attacks (e.g., punches) or weapons (e.g., pistol shot) from a menu, commanding demonic spirits (Salutors) to kill enemies. Splashes of blood appear as spirits impale and bash enemies; large blood stains may appear in the environment. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, realistic gunfire, and cries of pain. Some sequences depict additional acts of violence: a man shot in the head at close range; a woman slashing her own throat (off-screen); characters competing in a game of Russian roulette. The game contains some references to sexual material (e.g., “Naked in bed is fifteen. A bl*wie will cost you three. Unless you just want to watch something, then it's two”; “Whores…prostitutes. Women of easy virtues…courtesans…hookers, floozies”; “Want me to pop that cherry for you, sprat?”). During the course of the game, a human-like female creature is depicted topless. Drugs are briefly referenced in the dialogue (e.g., "tempted by Western fad and partakes in opiates”; “The evening's attractions will include the opportunity to partake in opium.”). The word “f**k” is heard in the game.
