Rating Summary
This is an adventure role-playing game in which players assume the role of a detective attempting to demolish a corrupt society. The game is presented from a 2.5D perspective, combining hand-drawn and animated pixel art with 3D environments. Players explore cities, examine crime scenes, and interact with characters. Some interactions lead to turn-based combat, as players select weapon attacks from a menu. Quick time events depict players attacking enemies, sometimes with pistols; instances of blood/gore are also seen: a character ripped in half and eaten by a monster; characters punched and shot, with stylized blood-splatter effects; a giant creature's limb severed. Brief black-and-white surveillance footage depicts a police officer shooting a character during an interrogation. The game contains occasional suggestive material: a red-light district neon signs with silhouettes of female figures; dialogue such as “If I could end up hooking up with your mother” and “A card from the Eden club…it looks like our friend had no intention of spending the night alone.” Several characters are seen smoking cigarettes, and one sequence involves players' character consuming alcohol as part of a mini-game (e.g., “Let's make a bet: serve me the strongest thing you've got, and if I drink it without puking, you give me 25 credits.”). A prominent theme in the game involves a fantasy drug called Spark and its effects (e.g., “You're higher than a rat. How much Spark have you taken today”; “Too much Spark in your veins, my friend”; “I'm going to nail you, you damn junkie”). The words “p*ss” and “sh*tmaritans” appear in the game.
